22/03/21

This week i had my first meeting with Sarah Leaver and we talked about what I had planned to do and she told me what she wanted to get out of me being in her class. She wants me to have control over the group's instagram to put new content to promote the show for the public.  When i introduced myself i did stumble over my word a little bit because i was nervous as this is the first time i have worked with people outside of my course on my own. I didn't get a chance to talk to anyone one on one but that is okay because I have plenty of time to do that. They did ask me a few questions about what I would be doing and clarifying things. I have quite a lot to do but I am really excited to start this project. The things I need to do this week is: email Sarah and get the link to Instagram so I can see what kind of things they have posted in the past so I can get an idea of things to post in the next few weeks. I also need to make a plan that works for both me and Sarah and her class. I need to make sure that I get enough content for instagram and the documentary. I have completed my proposal for unit 12 so i now need to complete my plan and my other bits of planning as i need that all done and sent to sarah for wednesday so that we have a plan.

29/03/21 

So I have looked at the Instergram to see what they post to get ideas on what I went to post on my instagram page. I also did some research on what devised theatre is, I want to have more knowledge on the type of theatre I will be documenting. I have tried to make a plan when I will film and get content. 

 

05/04/21 

So this week is the first week of the easter holidays and now I am struggling with getting motivated to work and I am struggling with putting my plans into action. This has made me realize that I am so behind that I really can’t continue with doing a documentary.  

 

12/05/21

So things are not going so well  at home at the moment. A lot of my time is taken up by my youngest brother who I look after when my dad is at work, because of this I have little time to actually do any work so I am even further behind. So I am going to talk to Phil and see what I need to do and what I can leave out. So I think I am no longer doing  a documentary, I am just going to do instagram. 

 

19/04/21 

This week I talked to Phil about my worries about my final project and that I have had a really hard time at home. We sat down and talked and wrote down a list of things I need to do as well as he reassured me that I can do this. We also decided that it would be best just to run the instergram. I now have a list of things to do and it makes it a lot clearer to me. I now feel more confident with this project.

26/04/21

So today I want to through my essay to make it clear what are quotes and what is me writing as well as to email Sarah to keep in contact and to let her know about the changes I have made to my FMP, as well as discuss when would be a good time for me to go in and take short clips and photos for the Instergram.Today has been hard to focus as there was so much going on. I did get the two things done I set out to do as well as having updated my evaluations. So overall today was a success. 

 

27/04/21 

So today I have got a lot of my evaluations done as well as my problems solving page done. I also need to put all of my evaluations on to my wix page. I did really get that much done as I was trying to catch up with things I haven't done or just behind on. 

 

28/04/21 

Today I am finishing up my evaluation’s and problem solving. I am also looking at my list of stuff to do so I think when I am in college tomorrow I am going to test the rooms for the sound and light as well as I want to ask daisy to be my test subject for me so I can practice my filming and photography for the Instergram. Next week I am going to get a lot of my research done as well as I am going to go into the class to start taking content for the Instergram.

4/05/21

Today I am going into the class to get the content for the Instergram. I am a little nervous because I don’t do well in these types of situations. I am going to use a mixture of my phone and my camera to get the content because I am going to get better quality photos as this is shown in my research. My aim for today is getting the content as well as the information to put in my research. I can also use it because it has context to my project. So when i got there Sarah talked to the class about their last week and about what they needed to do in the lesson. Then we did a warm up that I got involved in. Then once we warmed up two of the groups stayed in the room we were in and the others went off into other places. I took loads of pictures/ videos that I now need to edit and get ready to go onto Instagram. I also recorded me and a few of the students talking about what theatre / dance companies that they like or inspired to be involved in as well what actors / actresses they really like or they inspire to be like. The next thing I need to do is get all the photos and videos off my camera and phone and then I need to go through them and pick out the ones I like and think are suitable to go onto Instagram. I also need to go through the little chats I recorded and get the names of things I need to research as well as I need to put all the recordings on to my wix website. I also need to make sure all my written work is uptodate. I also need to put the content on my wix website.   

 

05/05/21

Today, I haven’t had as much time to get as much work done but what I did do was get all of my photos off my camera onto a memory stick so I can edit them tomorrow at college. I also need to get the videos off my phone so that I can edit them into smaller clips to put on the Instergram. I am going to also finish my write ups and put them on my wix.

Today I am going to do my write ups and finish doing my research. I am also going to put as much content on my wix website. I did everything I planned to do today.

 

07/05/21

Today I did part of my research. I looked at 2 different theatre companies ( Frantic Assembly and The National Theatre) I went on Youtube to look at examples of the work that they do. I also put a few bits on my presentation page. I now need to do most of my research as well. I need to put all the videos and photos on my wix page.

10/05/21

Today I did a lot more research and looked at 2 different methods ( Stanisluvski and DV8 physical theatre). I also looked at panto style as well as a few more dance/ theatre companies, peeping tom and Oxygen. I have spent all day looking and writing down all the important information. Tomorrow I need to get all of this information written up and put on to my wix website. 

 

11/05/21

Today I got all of my research onto my website. I also went on to youtube to get videos out under the research to show examples of the work/types of work in the different parts of my research. I also got photos of all the actors/ actresses that the groups in the class said they liked ready to go on to my Wix website. On Thursday I need to get all the photos/ videos from the class on to my website. I also need to make sure my evaluations are up to date.

13/05/21

So today I got all the photos and videos onto my wix website ( well most of them) I put them big enough so that you can see the images but also made them so they are two a side so that I could get all the photos onto my page. I think that it was okay that I didn’t do as much as i wanted because the last few weeks i have worked really hard to get my work done so i didn’t have to stress in the last few weeks. So the next thing I need to do is to create a planning page and put all of my planning on it. 

 

19/05/21 

Today i created my planning page on my wix website. I put on this page a screenshot of the gantt that shows the original plan for this project. I also put on there the job list that me and phil came up with after i changed my idea. I also put a paragraph on what I was planning on doing when I went to the class to take the videos and photos for instagram.

20/05/21 

Today I got my evaluations done and written up for the 2 days that I didn't do on the days. I also got the rest of the videos on my wix site. The next thing I need to do is cut some of the videos down and put them on instagram. I need  to put some of my notes from my notepad that I need to take photos of and put them on to my wix website. I also need to start putting content on instagram twice a day to get a bit more content out there.

21/05/21

I decided today I would do bits I didn’t finish so what i did is, writing up yesterday's evaluations, I finished getting photos of my notepad on to my wix website. I also spent about an hour trying to get some of the photos onto my phone so I could get them onto instagram, which I did. I have also taken a screenshot of the post and put it on to my wix website. Next week all I have to do is put more content onto the page.

24/05/21 

So today I am just putting 2 posts on the instagram page, which will be 2 photos of  one of the girls jumping up and doing different poses and other groups' little dance scenes. I am going to take screenshots of  both posts on to my wix website on to my presentation page. I don't have long left so all I have to do is post things on instagram and write my final evaluation.

25/05/21 

Today I am doing the same as yesterday because as far as I know I don’t have anything else to do. I asked Phil to have a look at my work to see if there are any holes in my work and if so I can fix it before deadline day. I also need to put 2 more posts on instagram and then on to my wix page.

27/05/21

Today is the second last day before deadline day but it is my last day in the college as a college student. I have talked to Phil and there are a few things I need to do. For example, I needed to finish my post plan so that has been done, I also needed to put a few links into my proposal and of course i did that. I have also put 2 more posts on to my instagram and then on my presentation page. Tomorrow all i have to do is put 2 more posts on instagram, then put it on to my presentation page, add one more evaluation for the day and then write my final evaluation and i am done.

28/05/21 

Today is deadline day. The final day of this project, I don't have too much to do but I need to put 2 more posts on instagram and then onto my wix (presentation page). I have to do my last daily evaluation and then my final evaluation for the entire project.

Final evaluation:

My start aim was to create a documentary that looks at the behind the scenes of a divided show. I also wanted a multimedia platform to promote the release of the documentary. It was going to have interviews, podcasts and videos. The aim was to show the creative process as well as the work it takes to put the show together.

 

What I actually achieved was instagram that has 10 different posts on it. It is not everything I want to achieve by being very proud of the work I have achieved. The reason I didn't achieve what I wanted was because I have a lot of stuff on my plate at home and my Time management wasn't great.

 

I am really proud and happy with the work produced. I learn a lot throughout this project for example my time management has massively improved example of this would it be that in every other project I was working flat-out on the lead up to deadline day because I had so much work today but this time I only had the last few things today this included writing my final evaluation as well as adding the last two posts on Instagram.

 

If I was to do this again I would have made more time in the beginning and I would have not worried so much about the final product. I should have known that these things just work out. I am so happy and proud of the progress I made this year. I feel that the last two years of being at Northbrook Met has really changed years as an individual as well as the way I work and it has increased my enthusiasm to get into the Music industry because I feel I should be. Everything I've learned in this project and the last two years has given me an amazing foundation for starting Uni in September. I feel that thanks to my tutor and everyone around me I will be able to Carry on my studies into the music business more efficiently and well-prepared.
