Week 1- 14/09/20

We are back! So what a year but we are back to work. So this week I was just getting back into the swing of things because having six months off seems like fun but it was hard because I had nothing to do. Now I am back and able to work. I am going to try and get the best out of this year. I want to get the best I can.

Week 2 - 21/09/20 

This week we got the first task and I am happy to start working on it. So I have started researching different podcasts and different sites that are similar to the site that we want to create. Through looking at the sites I have found the kinda look and style that I think would look good for the front of the site as well as what I want my page to look like. 

 

Week 3 - 28/09/20

This week I have created a questionnaire to get primary research for the article I am working on. This will help me make the best evaluation of the situation. I am also preparing questions for my face to face interviews. I have also been thinking about what I want my podcast to be about. I have a few ideas of things I want to talk abouts as well the people I want to talk to. I need to start thinking about where i am going it for example soundcloud, mixcloud and many more.

 

Week 4 - 5/10/20

This week has been very productive. I have sent out my questionnaire with all the questions for my article. I have had a few responses and waiting on the others. I have done 2 face to face interviews as well, this will be used in the article. The face to face ones went really well and i didn’t feel as awkward as i thought i would have done doing them. I thought because it is my college friends that i am interviewing and i thought i would just laugh through it all. I have also started looking at my podcast idea as well as having a good look at different podcasts to see what they do to make their podcast a success as well as how they connect with their listeners. My podcasts will be talking to the students about what they want to do in the future and if they are second years I want to ask them about what they are going to do next year. As well as their hopes and dreams for the rest of their life.  

 

Week 5 - 12/10/20

This week started with me working on getting my article written up into my first draft and also I will start to get my podcast recorded so I can show my class what I have so far. This means I have to write my first draft and I have a lot of work to do on my podcast.i will ask Daisie to be my first guest on my podcast, i will have to record this on thursday morning and show my class the very rough uncut version of the podcast because i won't have time to edit it. Once I have edited this episode I will look for another person to have on. Before I even record my first one I need to come up with a name for this show. I have a few names in the idea pot. To make my mind up on which one I will use I am going to make a tally chart with the names I like and I will ask people around me which one they like the best.

So after this tally a lot of people like Future Dreams so I went with that name but after I showed the rough cut to my class that all agreed that the name Future would be a lot better so that is what the podcast is called. 

This week has been very busy and hard work but I really enjoyed doing it because I saw the outcome and it was just so good to see something that I worked really hard on turn out great. Next week I need to do a bit more research on different podcasts as well as that I have decided that I won’t be writing an article. I am going to focus on the podcast because I really enjoyed doing it. I also need to find more people that would be interested in doing the podcast with me. I really need to go outside my classmates and find people on different courses. 

 

Week 6 - 19/10/20

So this week is deadline week so I need to get my podcast edited and cut down because it is 30 minutes long and phil said I should cut it down. I also need to make some art work for the podcast. I also need to make sure all my notes and research are all up to date so that when I hand it in my work is all there. I want to make sure I get some feedback from phil so I can make my work a lot better because I want to get the best grade I can. I need to also talk to more people about my podcast so I can have more people to take part in it. I need to make a small time table with the people that I am going to talk to so that I know when I have to record. The fact that I am talking to people outside of my college course is a really good thing because it means that I get a wider view on what people want to do as well as talking to people about the work they are doing. I wouldn’t normally talk to broaden my perspective on the music industry. Editing the podcast was a lot harder than I was expecting, because I had to cut down and when I cut it, it then didn't sound right so I had to chop and change the audio and add bits so it sounded somewhat okay as well as it sounding smoothly. The podcast is now on Mixcloud and people can listen to it.
